I've been frequenting this place a lot as of late because my personal trainer is around here. If you're wondering if this place is counterproductive to my efforts with said trainer, you are 100% right it is!
I visited this place because my Chiropractor was raving about it and decided to give their larb beef salad a shot. The soup is flavorful without tasting heavy. It's actually quite refreshing when you have some after a bite of the salad because the salad packs heat! They also have slices of cucumber to cool your tongue down but really, I needed a bubble tea with lots of milk because when you ask for spicy, they don't play around.
Their thai iced tea is just ok. I much prefer thai iced tea from Thai on 7 or Sukho thai.
The chef special basil chicken is delicious as well. I love that the basil flavor really comes through but the basil leaves weren't overcooked. The flavors of their dishes pack a punch but it also has a brightness so the dishes don't feel heavy....even when you're overeating.
I heard that their coconut soup noodles are fantastic so I will give it a go next time. Their prices are really good considering the amount of food you get. I don't mind coming here and save a few bucks instead of going to Sukhothai/Pai! -

This is probably my first time eating at the First Markham Place food court. Not a bad experience.
Thai coconut noodle soup ($6.95 and includes a tea) - I love the soup base! The perfect level of spiciness and not too salty. It has a strong coconut and curry taste. I didn't really like the type of noodles they used, the fresh or dried pho noodles would've been better. I liked the minced pork, it gave me a feeling of home. But I just couldn't stand the smell of the tea it came with.
Pad Thai with shrimps ($9.50) - The taste is very similar to the one at Congee Queen. Again, the same type of noodles as the Thai coconut noodle soup. A little on the wet side. I would say this is the typical pad Thai in Toronto but at a lower price.
Overall, 3.5 stars. Very good value and big portions. -

An authentic Thai restaurant in the middle of Chinese cuisine dominated food court.
I ordered Bangkok Chicken (Kao Moon Gai) and it reminded me of Hiananese Chicken albeit a more lemony sour version of ginger sauce.
The chicken and rice itself is good but I will give them a plus on the heavenly good service soup.
I look forward ordering their Coconut Curry Soup which I saw from my neighbouring eater. -
